The World’s First Public Ledger for Acts of Kindness Launches

ROKindness.org turns everyday acts of Kindness into a visible, measurable movement—one you can watch spread in real time.

YORK, PA, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Nonprofit organization Kindness Worldwide today launched ROK, the world’s first public ledger of good — an online platform that lets anyone record an act of Kindness, share it, and watch the ripples spread outward in real time. Through a free website, mobile app, and printable QR cards, ROK inspires, records, rewards, maps, and celebrates everyday Kindness, transforming each good deed into an expanding wave of positive action.

Kindness is contagious. One act of Kindness inspires the next: a neighbor helps a neighbor shovel snow; that neighbor mentors a teenager; the teenager plants a community garden. Until now, no one could see those ripples. ROK makes them visible—one act becomes three, three become nine, nine become twenty-seven—and lets participants watch the wave of positivity reach further than they ever imagined.

The philanthropic organization began with a single, ordinary act. On Good Friday 2023, Kindness Worldwide founder Kevin Smith lost his wallet. Soon after, a young woman drove out of her way to return it to his doorstep. That small act of Kindness inspired Smith to find a meaningful way to say thank you, which grew into a global movement that has since sparked innumerable acts of Kindness, inspired police departments to issue Kindness Citations, produced the award-winning documentary For Such a Time as This, and established a meaningful 8 days annually in November as Kindness Week Worldwide.

How ROK Works:
1) Do something Kind. The act doesn’t have to be large or financial — only real.
2) Record it at ROKindness.org. Create a free account, log the act, and generate a personal QR code, which you can print as a physical ROK card to share or save to your phone.
3) Invite whomever you inspire. Share your QR code with those you help and ask them to pay it forward. Anyone who joins through your code becomes a ripple in your pond.
4) Watch the wave grow. See how far one good deed reaches, and become a Champion of Kindness as your ecosystem expands. No money, no strings; the only currency is Kindness.

The September launch sets the stage for the movement’s largest moment of the year: Kindness Week Worldwide, November 7–14, anchored by World Kindness Day on November 13, 2026. The eight-day observance mirrors the movement’s Eight Characteristics of Kindness (Gratitude, Patience, Forgiveness, Empathy and Compassion, Respect, Joy, Generosity, and Service) and features community proclamations, Kindness Citations, and a blood-donation drive timed to Veterans Day, which falls within the week.
